McCall Snowmobile AIARE Level 1

In this AIARE Level 1 you will learn how to prepare for a backcountry trip, understand basic decision making in the field, and learn rescue techniques.

Expand your avalanche knowledge. There will be both in-class and field sessions so be prepared for both environments and for quick changes in between. Make sure your snowmobile is in good shape so that mechanic time isn’t a distraction because attendees will be riding about 20 miles per day for day 2 and 3. Beyond your normal riding gear, PAC will provide all the necessary materials for classroom time and field books but be sure to have a 3-antenna transceiver (Avy beacon), a shovel, and a probe.

Be sure you have read and meet all the requirements laid out in the essential eligibility: https://avtraining.org/essential-eligibility-criteria/

PAC wants to make sure that everyone in your group is getting the most out of the course so please reach out to them with any concerns about your abilities or equipment and be sure to arrive prepared and ready to learn.

CM Backcountry Avalanche Clinics

Get avalanche training and learn riding techniques in one class! CM Backcountry Rentals & Adventures offers private and group, one and two day avalanche awareness and riding skills clinics. CM will go over avalanche gear, avalanche conditions, and avalanche protocols. Students can expect to develop a good understanding in basic decision making while in the field, and to learn rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person. Throughout the two days, CM will also work with attendees on back country riding skills such as; side hilling, downhill turns, and more advanced maneuvers. The instructors are open to teach whatever you want to work on so communicate with them what that is.

If none of their pre-scheduled clinics fit your schedule, they book 1:1 clinics, small group clinics (minimum of 2), large group clinics (max of 10), and guided adventures anytime, call their office to check availability.
